Ahead of the release of their long delayed sole studio album, Vimic have released a new single - their first in over eight years.
Work on Vimic's debut album Open Your Omen ground to a halt in 2018 with the passing of producer Kato Khandwala, but in 2021 it seemed that the project would always remain unreleased after the death of drummer and main driving force Joey Jordison. However, in April this year, Jordison's estate confirmed they had obtained the rights to the album and would be releasing it later in 2025, along with a special reunion show featuring the band and a number of guest drummers. Currently confirmed guests are Crypta's Luana Dametto and Revocation's Ash Pearson.
As October gets closer, Vimic have released the first single since regaining the rights to the album. "In Your Shadow" was released today (8 August) and takes a far more melodic turn than their prior singles, veering more into hard rock territory. The ballad is a fitting choice for a frst single, originally penned as a ttribute to Type O Negative frontman Peter Steele but taking on new meaning in the context of the album's troubled release.
Open Your Omen is now confirmed to be released on 3 October 2025. Follow Joey Jordison's Facebook page, run by his family and friends, for updates.
